February Blah

When I was teaching I vowed to remember that February was just a frustrating time of year and that the irritations I had with life at that moment would undeniably look less irritating in a month. The students always seemed less whiny, the grading less insurmountable, and life more enjoyable once mid-March was upon us. And, I must remind myself of this fact as a stay-at-home mother.

Yesterday Jonathan spent two HOURS sitting at the kitchen table with glue (LOTS), paper, scissors, and tape. He was making "objects" to decorate Daddy's office and "valentines" for Caleb and me. We have countless, very gluey, projects taped up around this house as evidence of his creative time.

Caleb is actually cuddling with us. This is truly blog-worthy for my boy. My children have not previously cuddled or snuggled more than for brief moments and then they're off to do something. Caleb gets up in the morning and cuddles. It's just wonderful!

Yesterday we played in the snow for an hour. That was a little long for little Caleb and he was really peeved at me by the time we got all of the clothes off and were settled back inside. However, he napped for 3 hours in the afternoon which sets a napping record in this house. We will likely be out there again very soon!

Hoping for mid-March...
